We are presently providing short-term job-specific training in Medical
Assistant, Computer Technology, Cosmetology and Paralegal Studies.
Camelot College has been a pioneer over the past twenty years in

Our student services include on-campus student
housing, a bus transit system, an on-campus "Class A" child day care

important to note that we have on campus living accommodations for
students who have children under the age of six.
Acedemic Programs
Computer TechnologyThe Computer
Technology Curriculum is a forty-five (45) credit hour program designed
to prepare a student for employment in the data entry field or a
related data processing position in a modern computerized business.
During this period, the student learns and masters the use of several
different types of computer software in entering, processing,
retrieving, and generating various types of business data and reports.
In addition the student will learn certain aspects of hardware
components and computer repair. The primary objective of this program
is the attainment of a high level of speed and accuracy in processing
data with a computer and obtain a general knowledge of computer repair.
In order to enroll in this program, a prospective student must be 17
years or older, possess a high school diploma or equivalent
certification, or pass the Ability-to-Benefit (ATB) entrance exam. To
successfully complete this training, the student must have an overall
GPA of 2.0 and complete all credits in satisfactory progress. Upon
successful completion of this program, the graduate is awarded a
diploma in Computer Technology.

CosmetologyThe
Cosmetology program is designed to prepare the student to become a
Louisiana State Licensed Cosmetologist. It is a ten (10) month
1500-clock hour program consisting of classroom lectures (theory),
laboratory activities/clinical training (practical). Prospective
matriculant must be 17 years or older, possess a high school diploma,
or equivalent certification, or pass the Ability-to-Benefit (ATB)
entrance examination. To successfully complete this training program,
the student must have a minimum overall GPA of 2.0 and complete 1500
clock hours in satisfactory progress. and pass the State Board
licensure examination. Upon completion, the graduate will be awarded a
diploma in cosmetology. Students must pass the State Board licensure
examination to receive a state license to practice cosmetology.

Medical AssistantThis
curriculum trains the student to assist the physician in medical
procedures in the physician's office, to maintain medical records, and
to perform clerical duties. The required externship provides practical
experience in a medical environment. In order to enroll in this
program, a prospective student must possess a high school diploma or
equivalent certification, or pass the Ability-to-Benefit (ATB) entrance
exam. To successfully complete this training, the student must have an
overall GPA of 2.0 and complete forty-five (45) credit hours in
satisfactory progress. Upon successful completion of this program, the
graduate is awarded a diploma in Medical Assistant. She/he is not
required but is strongly encouraged to take the certification test from
the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT). If she/he passes
this test, she/he becomes a (Nationally) Certified Medical Assistant
(NCMA).

Paralegal StudiesThe
Paralegal Studies program is a 24-month, 2008-clock hour training
program designed to prepare the trainee to effectively and efficiently
execute all the duties and responsibilities of a Legal Secretary and a
Paralegal in any given legal setting. The three (3) month internship
component of this curriculum provides the matriculant with practical
field experience necessary to complete the training. In order to be
eligible to enroll in this program, the prospective student must
possess a high school diploma or equivalent certification. To
successfully complete this training, the student must have a minimum
overall attendance of 80% and GPA of 2.0 with no grade less than a "C"
in any of the core subjects. Upon completion of this program, the
graduate is awarded the "Associate Degree in Occupational Studies in
Paralegal Studies."

Nail Technician Specialist Manicurist TrainingThe
Nail Technician Specialist Manicurist training program primary purpose
is to train the student in the basic manipulative skills, safety
judgments, proper work habits and desirable ttitudes necessary to
obtain licensure for comptency in entry level positions in the nail
technology field.

Cosmetology Instructor TrainingThe
Cosmetology Instructor Training Program is designed to prepare a
licensed cosmetologist on all aspects of educational theory and
application, including but not limited to developing curriculum and
classroom managem ent. It is an eight (8) month, seven hundred twenty
(720) clock hour program consisting of classroom lectures, classroom
demonstrations and clinical training designed to develop instructional
skills. Prospective enrollees must be 17 years or older, be a licensed
cosmetologist, and possess a high school diploma or equivalent high
school. Upon completion of the program, the matriculant will be
eligible to sit for the Louisiana State Board Exam. Once passed, the
matriculant will receive a state license to becom e a cosm etology
instructor.
